EN: Ok, if you are reading this, you know that the project is far ahead than this post. The idea of creating this blog happened after the “success” of my post on twitter. As I mentioned in the about section of the blog, I love aviation in general. This passion increased when I first met the youtube channel of Aviões e Músicas, and after that I just became so crazy about the subject. Well, I don’t want to be a real pilot, so I chose the virtual way. I started with Microsoft Flight Simulator, and after some time I migrated to Lockheed Martin Prepar3D, and then I met Aerosoft Airbus A320.
With the time, and money (much money), I bought my first accessory, a Saitek X52 (now Logitech G). Than, after some time, I bought my second accessory, a VRinsight MCP Combo, that made easier my auto pilot interation. But I want more. The next step for my simulation to be perfect it was the MCDU. And yes, VRinsight produce one, but here in Brasil the import taxes are too expansive, sometimes are a 100% of the value of the product. So, I decided to make my own MCDU.
In the next posts I will explain and describe all steps with details and source (yes, I really love Open Source) but by now I will let for you the smallest explanation: a Raspberry with a LCD screen will conect using my home network to the web server provided by the Aerosoft Airbus. For the input buttons, I will create a small keyboard and connect to the Raspberry.

Como mencionei na seção sobre do blog, eu amo a aviação em geral. Essa paixão aumentou quando conheci o canal do youtube da Aviões e Músicas, e depois disso fiquei tão louco com o assunto. Bem, eu não quero ser um piloto real, então escolhi o caminho virtual. Eu comecei com o Microsoft Flight Simulator, e depois de algum tempo eu migrei para o Lockheed Martin Prepar3D, e então conheci o Aerosoft Airbus A320.
Com o tempo e dinheiro (muito dinheiro), comprei meu primeiro acessório, um Saitek X52 (agora Logitech G). Então, depois de algum tempo, comprei meu segundo acessório, um VRinsight MCP Combo, que facilitou minha interação com o piloto automático. Mas eu quero mais. O próximo passo para a minha simulação ser perfeita foi o MCDU. E sim, o VRinsight produz um, mas aqui no Brasil os impostos de importação são muito grandes, às vezes são 100% do valor do produto. Então, decidi fazer meu próprio MCDU.
Nos próximos posts vou explicar e descrever todos os passos com detalhes e fonte (sim, eu realmente amo o Open Source) mas agora vou deixar para você a menor explicação: um Raspberry com uma tela LCD irá se conectar, usando minha rede doméstica, ao servidor web fornecido pelo Aerosoft Airbus. Para os botões de entrada, vou criar um pequeno teclado e conectar ao Raspberry.
